ca. 1968. Undated color photograph of Governor Daniel J. Evans in his office at the State Capitol in Olympia. Copy of color print was made on October 11, 1968. Governor Evans was the only Washington governor to serve three consecutive terms of office. He was first elected in 1964, defeating two-term incumbent Albert D. Rosellini. A Republican, he was the House Majority leader at the time of his first successful bid for the chief executive's chair. He was also elected U.S. Senator and served from 1983-89. Mr. Evans is presently the chairman of Daniel J. Evans Associates and was re-appointed regent of the University of Washington by Democratic Governor Gary Locke. ALBUM 10.
