Scope and content
Three Washington bathing beauties pose against the backdrop of Chicago, their new home base. They are, left to right, Dorothy Ann Donovan, Dorothy Johnson and Shiela Widener Schutzman. The former Shiela Widener was the 1955 Miss Tacoma. Photographs ordered by the News Tribune. The Richards Studio took time out from photographing various members of the 1956 Democratic Presidential Convention, which nominated Adlai Stevenson and Estes Kefauver as their Presidential ticket, to capture these beauties. Donovan, of Walla Walla, and Johnson, of Tacoma, were stewardesses for United Airlines and based in Chicago. The newly married Schutzman was working as a model in Chicago. (TNT 8/18/1956, pg. 4)
