Scope and content
Dorothy Johnson, left, and Shiela Widener Schutzman pose in one piece swim suits in front of the Chicago skyline on a life guard's stand. The former Shiela Widener, the daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Widener and Shields Widener, was the 1955 Miss Tacoma and a former student at the University of Washington, where she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was working in Chicago as a model. Dorothy Johnson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Johnson of Tacoma, was a former student at the College of Puget Sound and a member of Phi Beta Phi. She was working as a stewardess for United Airlines. The Richards studio was probably in Chicago to photograph the Democratic Presidential Convention, which recently approved the ticket of Adlai Stevenson and Estes Kefauver for the democratic Presidential and Vice presidential nominees running against Republican incumbents Eisenhower and Nixon. Photographs ordered by the News Tribune. (TNT 8/18/1956, pg. 4)
