Scope and content
In May of 1941, two unidentified Japanese-American students from the College of Puget Sound were photographed selling tickets to an unidentified Japanese vegetable stand operator and his family during the CPS "Bricks-krieg" to raise funds for the construction of a Student Union Building. The cost of construction and furnishings would be about $57,000. Although Japanese students only comprised 2% of the student body population, they raised 10% of the revenue in the sale. The grocer donated $10 and expressed hopes that someday his son would attend the college.
