Scope and content
A cascade of (play) money floats around the new Miss Tacoma Home Show, Marilyn Ganes, in March, 1958. She has a bag of silver and a handful of bills in her hands. One lucky winner would trot home clutching a sack of silver each night from the Tacoma Home Show. The beauty queen is wearing a trim one-piece bathing suit with a diamond pattern and has a banner draped around her indicating that she is the Miss Tacoma Home Show. Each year the Home Show, held in the College of Puget Sound Fieldhouse, crowned a new queen. Marilyn Ganes was a junior at Franklin Pierce High School at the time of her selection; the 17-year-old also was a drum majorette. Photograph ordered by National Home Shows, Inc.
