Scope and content
Miss Jean Hudson, left, sits astride "Minor Air" while Mrs. Arthur Hannum rides "Rolling Jim." in May of 1941. Mrs. Thomas Overland of Seattle brought two of her "Tennessee Walking Horses" to the Woodbrook Hunt Club in Lakewood so that the members of the club could get a chance to see and ride the distinctive breed, popular mostly in the southern states. In 1935 breeders and enthusiasts formed the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' Association. From 1948 only horses whose parents were registered as Tennessee Walking Horses were eligible for inclusion in the Tennessee Walking Horse stud book. (T. Times 5/23/1941, pg. 22)
