Scope and content
Three early models of American automobiles are displayed in front of the Capitol (Legislative) Building in Olympia courtesy of Harrah's Club on July 18, 1958. Each vehicle has a jauntily dressed man with pinstriped coat standing next to it. Other examples of pre-1920's cars can be seen in the background. It appears that the famous cable car from Steve's Gay '90s has also made the trip to Olympia. The antique cars and costumed drivers motored down to Olympia as part of the 11th annual national Western Caravan of the Horseless Carriage Club of America. No car built after 1915 was allowed in the caravan. All cars had to be as authentic as possible even to the color of the paint. Photograph ordered by Harrah's Club. (TNT 5-25-58, A-6)
