Scope and content
The postal employee delegation to the Los Angeles convention for the National Association of Letter Carriers goes over the itinerary and bids farewell to Postmaster George P. Fishburne, in suit, before departing the next day, August 27, 1941. Kneeling is Arthur W. Nedervold. Seated are Fishburne, left, and Leonard L. Marcoe. Standing are, left to right, Fay L. Michaud, Albert H. Bottiger, and Lyle W. Bass. The convention will draw delegates from all over the United States, as well as Hawaii and Alaska. The group from Tacoma will participate in the parade for the first time, in an old time car with matching period costumes. (T. Times 8/27/1941, pg.7)
