Tacoma Carpet Cleaners. In an odd twist, instead of coming to your house to clean your carpet, Tacoma Carpet Cleaners' owners Don Reidler and James Riley are taking the carpet, or area rug, out for cleaning, much as laundry is sent out. The home is believed to be that of Mrs. James Worden at 5214 "A" St. Tacoma Carpet Cleaners was located at 2943 So. L. The signage on the station wagon states that the company also does wall washing, general house cleaning and floor waxing with "location work our specialty." The placards on top advertise Don's Window and Janitor Service and a sign on the bumper reads "clean rugs last longer." A key component in the company's ads was that rugs needed to be cleaned professionally periodically to remove deeply imbedded dirt that caused wear. (TNT 11-29-1959, pg. D-8)
