Scope and content
Doris E. Wharton and Sgt. Milton G. McAtee of Fort Lewis were married on February 1, 1942 in the loft of the YWCA with Dr. J. Renwick McCullough officiating. The bride, daughter of S.G. Wharton, was a graduate of Clover Park High School. Miss Wharton wore an ivory satin gown, princess style with a sweetheart neckline, and a full length train. Her attendants were dressed similarly and carried small bouquets of flowers. The bride later changed into a blue dress, black fur jacket and blue accessories for her wedding trip.
