Scope and content

Display by Harmon Manufacturing Co. at the furniture show of the durable "Last-A-Foam" mattress. A 55 pound fireplug has been laid to rest on a Last-A-Foam mattress. The weight of the fireplug is 260 pounds, but because of concentrated weight, it is the same as testing with a 520 pound man. The sign reads "over 10,000 cycles so far- no change. Original comfort remains." It appears the fireplug is being rolled across the mattress at intervals, showing how the foam springs back. F.S. Harmon Manufacturing Co. was located at 1938 Pacific Ave. The company manufactured home, office and school furniture, as well as "Serta" mattresses. The eight story building was built in 1909 and is now home to the Harmon Brewing Co.
