A large group of teenagers are for the most part paying close attention to the derby-attired young man clutching a handbag in this spring, 1960, photograph. There are a number of wrapped gifts on the picnic table before him. These are students from Pacific Lutheran University, some of whom may have participated in costumed skits. Each year PLU celebrated with a Basket Social, this year held at Spanaway Park on May 22, 1960.
