Scope and content
A beaming young lady is caught dancing in mid-step in this May 30, 1960, portrait. She is either Iwalani Lum-King or Dandy Lu Pointe. She is wearing a two-piece tropical outfit and has three flowers in her dark hair. The dancer is believed to be one of eighteen islanders appearing in Ray Kinney's "Royal Polynesian Review" on June 1, 1960. The one-night-only program was held at the University of Puget Sound Fieldhouse and featured seven girl dancers, a flaming sword dance by a Samoan prince, Maori war songs, Tahitian dances, and a comedian. Tickets were available for $1 and up. Photograph ordered by Tropical Attractions, Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii. (TNT 5-26-50, A-7)
