The Tacoma parking meter collectors used this three-wheel cart as they made their rounds collecting nickels from the meters in downtown Tacoma. On Thursday, July 9, 1942 the cart had a flat tire at the corner of 9th and Broadway, right in front of the Roxy Theater. It was their seventh flat in recent weeks; but because of the war, no new tires were available. The double feature playing at the Roxy was "Moontide" starring Jean Gabin and Ida Lupino, and "Steel Against the Sky". (T. Times 7/10/1942, pg. 3-article)
