Scope and content
Miss Rosemary Stewart, left, and Mrs. Milton (Gladys) Fisher contributed to the war effort by volunteering to work with the USO Travelers' Aid Department. Mrs. Fisher was the general head of the department and Miss Stewart was in charge of the volunteers at the 12th and Fawcett location. In all, over 75 volunteers assisted in locations at the Rust Building, USO clubs and bus stations. Someone was on duty at all times to aid visitors, answering questions and directing them to other agencies as needed. (T.Times 8/17/1942 p.6)
