Scope and content

Tacoma Day Nursery Committee at Mrs. Herbert F. (Ellen D.) Satterlee's residence. The committee met on August 26, 1942 to discuss the upcoming autumn style show and bridge luncheon. The event would be held September 10th in Wells Hall at the Christ Episcopal Church parish house. With so many mothers working in the defense industries during the war, the Day Nursery performed a valuable service, taking care of their children. Pictured left to right, Mrs. A.H. (Millie) Rhode, Ellen Satterlee, Mrs. Calvin W. (Mabel) Stewart, Mrs. C.O. (Hilma) Lynn, Mrs. Berry (Myrtle) Sugg, Mrs. Harold (Mabel) Dahl and Mrs. Clarence M. (Lula) Shank. (T.
