James Bellamy, Norman Rowley and Frank Johnson (kneeling) of the Tacoma Athletic Commission display an assortment of fireworks to a smiling group of children at the Zebra Fireworks warehouse in late June of 1962. Many of the children, including toddlers, are clutching a variety of fireworks. The Tacoma Athletic Commission, working in conjuction with the Chamber of Commerce, would be sponsoring the annual 4th of July fireworks display on Commencement Bay. The three members pictured above were the event's co-chairmen. The children in the photograph were: Marc Johnson (next to Frank Johnson).
