It was China's Day at the Liberty Center, 1000 Pacific Ave., on October 8, 1942. The War Chest's opening program emphasized China because Chinese War Relief was a recipient of War Chest funds. A medium sized crowd turned out to watch Chinese singers and dancers accompanied by a Chinese orchestra. Pictured left to right are dancer Chin Sang, singer Lee Foon and speaker Dr. Kalfred Dip Lung, Commissioner of Overseas Affairs for China. (T.Times 10-09-1942 p.1)
