Scope and content
The 1964 Tacoma Home Show queen, Gerry Gennow, smiles as she examines the booklets advertising the annual display of new ideas for homeowners on March 13, 1964. An unidentified woman, developer Boyd Lundstrom, and Model Home Committee chair John Slott look on. Each year thousands of local residents would flock to the University of Puget Sound Fieldhouse for the latest in home fashions and designs. The 16th annual home show would run from March 17-22, 1964. Two model homes were set up for viewing; one was on the UPS property while the other, in 1964, dubbed the "Colonial," was located near 102nd and Park Ave. So., the location of the above photograph. Photograph ordered by National Home Show.
