On April 8, 1943, two awards were presented to Washington State in Olympia for outstanding efforts in the collection of scrap metal to be salvaged. Officials were presented with a scrap metal plaque and an official WPB (War Production Board) salvage pennant. Two unidentified women and one man are pictured with the pennant.
