Scope and content

Gambling House Raid, April 16, 1943 at the Good Luck Club. An interior view shows the open door at the top of the stairs with a hand-printed sign, "No Minors Allowed." The Good Luck Club was located on the second floor at 1347 Broadway, at the top of a flight of 26 steps. One first had to open an iron door leading to a vestibule. The customer stood there until identified by a look out behind a wire screen. After identification, the first door would be locked and a second door opened into the club proper.
