Scope and content
On May 1, 1943, although the Second War Loan Drive had ended the day before, Price Sullivan, left, appeared at a special noontime rally at the Liberty Center to present Ted Brown, right, with a check for $50,000. The check would be used to purchase war bonds. Sullivan was the manager of the Sears store in Tacoma and Brown was the director of the Retailers Division of the War Savings staff.
