The fishing vessel, "Connie Jean," undergoes sea trials on April 20, 1966. Her prow carves a path through the quiet waters of Commencement Bay. The tuna seiner was built by Martinac Shipbuilding. She is under the command of Capt. Eugene Cabral of San Diego and will carry a crew of 14. The "Connie Jean," named after the captain's daughter, has a frozen fish capacity of 530 tons.
