Scope and content
Merchandise display- Pay 'n Save. Shoppers at the new Pay 'n Save store in Lacey's South Sound Shopping Center could save a pretty penny by purchasing half-gallon jugs of Castile shampoo for 87 cents in August, 1966. Aisles were carefully marked with numbers so that customers could find merchandise quickly. Also visible on Aisle #11 were spools of thread and other sewing essentials. The Olympia-area Pay 'n Save held its grand opening on August 2, 1966. Managed by Bill Gaffney, the modern 18,000 sq.foot building was the 22nd drugstore opened by Pay 'n Save in Western Washington and Portland. Photograph ordered by Pay 'n Save. (TNT 7-31-66, C-23)
