Designed by Tacoma architect Robert Billsbrough Price, the 17,000 sq. foot synagogue was built by Rome Construction. Stained glass windows in the 55-foot central tower were by Cummings Studio, Pinedale, California. Located in fields of scotch broom and directly north across 12th St. from Tacoma Community College, Temple Beth El was the first new synagogue built in Tacoma in 75 years.
