Scope and content
In January of 1969, Paul Herlinger, seated right with clipboard in lap, interviewed three unidentified men for one of the public service programs produced at KPEC-TV, Channel 56. KPEC was the educational television station at the Clover Park Vocational Technical Institute, located at 4500 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Lakewood. In 1967, Mr. Herlinger had resigned his position as public affairs director at KTNT-TV to become production manager as KPEC. He later was a production manager and executive producer at KCPQ-TV. In 1982, he began working full time narrating and announcing. KPEC-TV was created in 1960. In 1963, a fire destroyed the television building. Only three months later, the station resumed operations from an interim structure while a new station was constructed. Photograph ordered by the Tacoma-Pierce County Opportunity & Development, Inc.
