The first applicant to be approved for a grant from the Hilltop Vocational Scholarship Fund, 8-year Army veteran Harold Pruitt (left), visited Hilltop Multi-Service director Herman Walker on February 4, 1969. The grants are funded through a cooperation between private industry and various Tacoma churches and are administered by the Hilltop Multi-Service Center.
