Floating crane. View of 100-ton floating crane YD-228 taken on May 25, 1970. Star Iron & Steel had received a $6,400,000 Navy contract to build four 100-ton floating cranes. The cranes were to be built at Star Iron & Steel's Port Industrial yard location on ways recently leased from the Port of Tacoma.
