Scope and content

Camp Seymour. Special programs set up by the Tacoma-Pierce County Opportunity & Development, Inc., during the summer of 1970 allowed boys and girls, aged 8-14 from low-income families, to attend summer camp. Many had never had the chance to participate in outdoor camping activities. 400 boys were expected at Boy Scout camps, 100 at Tacoma Boys Clubs, and 350 more at Camp Seymour. This group of seven boys enjoy the fresh air and farm animals at Camp Seymour on July 21, 1970. One gives old "Jack" the donkey a big hug.
