Scope and content
The Doodletown Pipers, a clean-cut All-American singing and dancing troupe, entertained crowds at the Western Washington Fair in Puyallup for several days in September, 1970. They also appeared in numbers with actor/singer Dale Robertson. The wholesome group had been taught dance routines by noted choreographer Ward Ellis, who accompanied them on tour, so they did not merely stand stiffly and sing. The Doodletown Pipers would go on to appear with Perry Como on his " live " album recorded in Las Vegas and were regulars on the "Make Your Own Kind of Music" NBC summer program. Noted alumnui of the group included Theresa Graves ("Get Christie Love"), singer Jim Gilstrap, and Tom McKenzie ("Archies"). ALBUM 8.
