Scope and content
One of Lakewood's landmarks is the 130-foot water tower resembling a giant flashlight located near the Villa Plaza Shopping Center (now Lakewood Towne Center). The water tower, known as a "hydropillar," holds 500,000 gallons of water. Built about 1970, it can still be seen at 104th & Bridgeport Way. Color photograph ordered by the Lakewood Water District.
