1975 Richards stock footage. Mayor Gordon Johnston poses in front of a large replica of the "Betsy Ross flag" with its 13 stars arranged in a circle. With him are the 1975 Daffodil Festival Queen, Wendy Van Noy of Franklin Pierce High School, and Ms. Downtown Tacoma, Donna McNamara. Dian Ferguson is the Tacoma Afro Queen. The three ladies who are dressed in Colonial costumes have not been identified. This photograph was taken at the groundbreaking site for the downtown Bicentennial Pavilion, a new $2,000,000 civic center to be built by Absher Construction.
