Scope and content
Three young newspaper salesmen, who sold the Tacoma Times on the streets of downtown Tacoma, receive bundles of the late afternoon edition of the Times from District Manager Ken Hagen. In 1944, the Tacoma Times printed five editions each day to keep up with breaking news from the war. The young paperboys are: (l to r) Jim Olson, who sold papers around the main post office; Melvin Merchant, who worked the corner at 11th and Commerce; and Bill Hergert, who had the Peoples store corner.
