Scope and content
Mary Humphrey King is pictured in rehearsal with conductor Eugene Linden and the Tacoma Philharmonic Orchestra in late January of 1936. She would be appearing in an all-Wagner concert at the Jason Lee Auditorium in early February along with Raymond Marlowe, tenor from the San Francisco Civic Opera Company. Mrs. King, a well-regarded soprano and Tacoma voice teacher, would sing a duet with Mr. Marlowe from the second scene of the third act of "Lohengrin." The Tacoma Times would later report that the Wagner music was well received and both Mrs. King and Mr. Marlowe were praised for their performances.
