Scope and content
The Lincoln Bowling Alley was built by Stanford B. Hodgman who operated the alley from 1946, when it opened, until 1955. According to its listing in the 1946 Tacoma Telephone Directory, the alley was open 7 days a week from noon to midnight. The fully air conditioned building offered eight new Brunswick lanes, with shadowless lighting, and Hefty's Fountain & Snack Bar. Over the years Lincoln Bowling became Lincoln Lanes, and it expanded to 18 lanes with a pro shop, restaurant and lounge.
