An apartment-garage building went up in flames killing two people. The fire is said to have started after a cigarette was dropped into a wooden box near a stove. The fire occurred in the middle of the night. One body was found near a window, but unfortunately they were not able to escape. Interior view of apartment after fire (T. Times, 4/4/46, p. 1).
