Scope and content
In May of 1946, workers in downtown Tacoma could go the the Sportland Amusement Company at 1140 Pacific Avenue, grab a Pronto-Pup corn dog for lunch and shoot a couple of rounds on the rifle range. Ernest Craig's Sportland was a fixture on Pacific Avenue from the mid-1940s until 1968 when the building was torn down during "urban renewal". It was replaced with a parking lot.
