ca. 1946. Avid horsewoman Bernice Baker Keyes is pictured astride her horse outside the family stable circa 1946. She was the daughter of Tacoma businessman and builder John S. Baker before her marriage to attorney Wayne W. Keyes in 1919. The Keyes resided in the former "Sunnybank" residence, renamed the Keyes Mansion, located in the Lakes District at 11437 Gravelly Lake Dr. S.W. Mr. Keyes passed away in August of 1953; his wife would follow 16 years later. She had been prominent in business and fraternal organizations.
