Scope and content
ca. 1936. This circa 1936 photograph of Karl Koehler and his young son, Karl Jr., is a wider view of D2539, image 5A. Mr. Koehler, a noted bulb grower from the Orting area, was the owner and operator of the Karl Koehler Bulb Farm. His enormous variety of blooms, with emphasis on tulips, garnered wide praise from news photographers and commercial magazines. His technique in planting them so that the colors would harmonize and the blooms appear in rotation making a rainbow effect ensured beautiful fields from the earliest blooms to the end of the season.
