Scope and content
In April of 1947, Susan Jackson, wearing a dress with matching bonnet, sat on top of two cases of Grapette while holding her own 6 oz. bottle of Grapette. The little girl would be featured on two trade publication magazine covers. Her photograph would appear on the June (1947) issue of Grapevine and on the September (1947) issue of American Carbonator & Bottler. Susan's father, Wallace A. Jackson, Jr., operated the Grapette Bottling Co. which was opening a new plant at (then known as) 1522 Commerce St. After several years, the company moved to 1542 Court C, where they continued in operation until 1960 when the bottling plant was taken over by Dr. Pepper.
