Rainbow Convention. The Pierce County Rainbow Girls were hostesses to the 21st annual session of the Grand Assembly of the Order of the Rainbow for girls which was held June 22, 23, and 24, 1947. Over 1,500 young ladies from Washington, Idaho, and Alaska attended. Several drill teams performed. The winning teams were announced on the afternoon of the last day. Eighteen young women cadets form a V-shaped formation. The young woman on the far right is wearing an all-white uniform. (T.Times, 6/23/1947, p.1)
