The Elks Majorettes performed at the baseball game between Tacoma and Yakima at Tiger Park on August 15, 1947. The young ladies in the Majorettes had recently placed second at the National Elks convention in Portland, Oregon. The Yakima Stars beat the Tigers 16 to 10 in a slug fest. L-R, J.R. Gress was the Elks bandmaster, Darlene Reynolds, Donalda Moncrieff and Marjie Joy Miller. Miss Miller would later be known as actress Marjie Millar.(T.Times, 8/14/1947, p.1)
