Scope and content
Leroy Wallace (far left), age 9, Marvin Sponberg, age 9, and June Kearney, 10, enjoyed one last day in their makeshift treehouse before school began in September of 1947. The trio, who lived on North Verde and North Cheyenne were all registered to attend Sherman School. In 1947 the first day of school wasn't until Monday September 8th. (T.Times 9/3/1947 p.1)
