Scope and content
Model Saree Scott is wearing the portion of the Harry Winston collection of jewelry that was on display in Tacoma's Wisefield & Goldberg's store, 925 Broadway, for three days in September of 1947. The collection included the fabulous "Spellbound" clip, another 88 carat round and baguette diamond clip valued at $100,000, a necklace of round and baguette diamonds valued at $100,000 together with earrings, rings, and bracelets. Daniel Bennett, vice-president of Harry Winston, Inc., traveled with the collection from New York City. The "Spellbound" clip was the largest single piece of diamond jewelry made in the United States up to that time. Three men worked constantly over 6 month to match and assemble the 782 individual diamonds that comprised the complete clip. (T.Times, 9/22/1947, p.7; TNT, 9/24/1947, p.4)
