Floyd Harding (left) and Dick Purdue traveled to Lakeview, Oregon to hunt for deer, since hunting season does not begin in Washington until October 12th. They were able to kill a mule deer, weighing 250 pounds, with just a few shots. Dick fatally shot the deer, but Floyd had first shot the deer in the jaw. The men proudly stand by their dead deer (T. Times, 10/7/47, p. 6).
