Scope and content

In the fall of 1947, Sergeant Celotus Henninger had just been stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and his wife and daughters were getting ready to leave Tacoma to meet him. Nina (right, background) and the four girls would be leaving by air travel to San Francisco, California, where they would board a ship headed for Hawaii. Nina, Gloria, Sandra, Luella and Sonia are pictured saying their final goodbyes to loved ones (T. Times, 10/9/47, p. 9). (Note: 1947 City Directory has Grace Henninger as spouse of Sgt. Celotus Henninger.)
