Scope and content
On October 27, 1947 Lois Holm (left) and Joyce Anderson are pictured admiring the "Haven in the Woods" arrangement by Clarence Deming, horticulturist in charge of the Seymour Conservatory, which featured 1,400 exhibition type chrysanthemums. The chrysanthemums were grown by James Stanyon, chief horticulturist of the Metropolitan Park District. This was the third annual 'mum show (T. Times, 10/28/47, p. 2).
