Scope and content

Tacoma Times Carriers would take a bus from Tacoma to Seattle, where they would board the M. S. Chinook, a Black Ball ferry. The boys would sleep in private statesrooms and have Sunday breakfast on the boat. They would begin a forty five mile tour and break for lunch at the luxurious Empress Hotel. Their return trip home would be aboard the Princess Elizabeth, and dinner would be served on the ship. View of carriers having dinner at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, B. C. (T. Times, 11/4/47, p. 11).
