Scope and content
The staff of the Parker Paint Manufacturing Company posed for a group portrait outside their building at 3001 South Steele Street in November of 1947. William J. (Bill) Parker bought out the Pervo Paint Company, which had supplied paint to various local manufacturers during the war, in 1946. Parker Paint manufactured a complete line of paints, enamels, varnished and finishes. Their paints were recommended for industrial, marine, residential and commercial needs. Parker Paint was advertised as "The Best in the West on Land or Sea". The two men at the far right are believed to be George Martin, chief chemist (wearing smock) and William J. Parker. The gentleman on the far left is Ernie Williams. (T. Times, 12/10/47, p. 25).
