Three unidentified women employees at the Buffelin Furniture Manufacturing Company are fabricating cushions for sofas in this photograph from November 1947. Buffelin Funiture manufactured fine upholsted funiture at 1912 Center St. In 1947, funiture manufacturing was one of Tacoma's largest industries. Besides Buffelin, Tacoma was the home to F.S. Harmon Manufacturing Co., Northwest Chair Co., and Westwood Furniture Co. among others. (T. Times, 12/10/47, p. 22-23). TPL-8164
